Engine stops running
I have a 2001 Buick Lesabre . The car runs fine but on occasion ,( twice a month) it will stop running when sitting at a traffic light or coming to a stop .
Any ideas ?
Thank you

Could be a number of things.
Do you know any repair history in the last 2-5 years?

I've owned the car 8 years .
It'* been maintained well , filters , oil changes , fluids etc .
It has 126,000 miles on it .
It has never had plugs and wires changed but no miss'* either .
The car runs great and gets decent MPG .
Only lately has it started (about 5 times ) stop running when stopping at a traffic light or just coming to a stop . It seems to idle in the 800 range .

So, in the 8 years that you have owned it, its never had a tune up, gasket change or any other maintenance besides oil changes correct?
Could be carbon buildup in the IAC valve area of the throttle body causing the IAC valve to close too early making it stall.

its not your problem but as the plugs get higher gap, usually 100k on oem plugs, if you dont replace them, they start leaking out the wires and then you will have to replace both.

I agree with Justin, and I'll suggest a full tune up.

Change out the spark plugs and spark plug wires.
It can be done with common sockets and a ratchet. A flex head ratchet like this one... works great on the rear bank sparkplugs.
