update on manifold job
After finishing up the upper and lower intake gasket replacements I have a few notes for anyone attempting this for the first time. You should take some good ol pictures of the engine before you start, so you can reference where the brackets go, where wiring harness connections are, and even how the plug wires are routed. Also I made several goofs..I replaced the temp sensor and failed to make sure the connector was the same as the old one, now It has to be replaced, and I am not at all sure if I can get to it. You should replace plugs and wires if they are old, as I did while I had stuff out of the way, and I replaced the water pump as well, and a new serp belt. I removed the alternator, and tensioner assembly, and replaced heater hoses while everything was out of the way. New upper and lower radiator hoses too...why are they soooo hard to access with those dang factory clamps? I finally used a die grinder to cut those clamps off, I just couldn't get to them with the tools I had to compress the clamps.
