Cliffs Notes: supposedly, oil leaks from the front valve cover onto the front exhaust manifold, gets behind the heat shield, ignites.

Covers Regal GS and Grand Prix GTP only. No Bonne love.

Does the W-body front EM have a different heat shield than the H-body?

There's speculation that this is what's causing the under hood fires in the w-bodies.

I'm not sure I fully buy into it.
