Default 1989 Buick LeSabre 3.8 Series I

I have a 1989 LeSabre, and when I slow to a stop, it drops itself into neutral. I have to drop the selector into neutral and back into drive, and away we go. It also seems like it doesn't go into overdrive at speed. I'm thinking the modulator for the overdrive thing, but I have no idea for the neutral problem. Any ideas would help. Thanks

If you drive with the gear selector in drive, and not overdrive, does it still do it? I would like to eliminate a linkage issue.
