1995 Riviera Obd 1 or 2?
I have started a new thread on this subject as per this posting.
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...asc&highlight=
My car states that it is OBD 1 . Well at least the wierd OBD 1.5 system. But others have told me that the 1995 riviera is OBD 2 ? I have asked for the owners of Riviera on Regalgs.org.to check they're cars to clarify this situation.
I am thinking if the riveria is OBD 2 maybe DHP can set me up with a custom pcm and tuner (yes I know I have High hopes). But imagine a series one with the tuning capabiltys of the OBD 2 system. ( also the damn Obd 2 restrictions :( )

Oldsman105 is at work all day at work today and I just got off the phone and asked me to state this on his behalf...
Oldsman105:The emmisions sticker under the hood states that the car is OBD1 complient. What other way is there that I can confirm or deny it? I am just looking for a proper scanner for my car, that is why I am making all this fuss. I can also include pictures under the hood of my OBD1 compliance sticker.

wasn't 94 and 95 like the two odd years? Like they were odb 1.5 and needed a specific scan tool but could be read with the gm code key (just a jumper really) and count the flashing SES light?

Let me explain this again..
There were a few models during the 1995 model year that were OBD2 compliant... The Bonnevilles were not...
As for the Code Key, we are talking about the ALDL connector and the grounding of the diagnostic pin to obtain code or to be able to use the Trouble Code Flash Feature... This only works on GM cars through 93... For the 94-95 models with the 12Pin ALDL the diagnostic pin was no longer present and you had to have a scantool to read the codes..
For the 16 pin OBD 1.5 GM cars 94-95 you had to have a scantool capeable of reding the 94 - 95 models with a 16 pin OBD2 cable...
If memory serves me, the Rivs and the Firebird / TA were OBD2 compliant for the 95 model year...
Its all very confusing
