Decide if you want Bi-Xenon or regular. Then measure your housings to see what projectors will fit. You'll probably have to buy new bulbs since most projectors are D2S bulbs.

Also your housings will still say DOT on them since they're the factory housing, just with projectors inside. You can do it (or have it done) so that it looks factory original.

I'm partial to bi-Xenon since I read that they are easier to focus, I guess I need to do a little more research, I have already watched some vie on retro-fitting them.
And yea I seen that the projectors used D2S bulbs, and I think I recall reading that the reflectors ones used D2R'*.

One time when I took the car there with some Phillips Cool Blue lights that did not say DOT3 on the light bulb, they checked them for focus, and as soon as they seen the light they opened the hood, looked at the back of the bulb, and said those bulbs were not legal since the bulb itself did not say DOT3 on it.

Yea, that is what I thought when they rejected me, and I had to drive home 50 miles to replace the bulbs.
Aside for that they do not check everything, just the basic stuff like seat belts, turn signals, break lights, etc.
They used to remove the wheels and check breaks, but since they learned I keep mine well maintained they stopped checking them.
Normally you'd want them to check everything, but I like a speedy inspection, because I keep everything they inspect well maintained, so I like to get in and out ASAP.

I'm still researching and watching videos on retro-fitting these myself, most videos show them heating the lights to separate them, with my light assemblies I see that the covers are glass, and they look like there'* just metal clips holding them together, so maybe modding the guts will be easier to do.

I am now a bit unsure as to whether I want projectors, or reflectors, I want the lighting to look good, as well as help me see better on dark country roads, as I do very little late night city driving.
I think reflector ones would look a bit more like they were meant to be on my car, I could be wrong though, I just want to choose wisely because I do not want to make my big 96' Park Ave look silly, I am ok with increasing the wow factor of it a bit though.
Which is why I plan to try to do a full LED conversion on the rest of the lighting later on, I'll make a thread for that, and get pics when the time comes.

HIDs put out so much light that they are dangerous in reflectors. Yes, I have them in my reflectors on my Silverado, and yes I plan on putting projectors in there.

There is a reason there is NO car that comes OEM with HID bulbs in reflector housings.

Projectors it shall be then, I'm going to contact that company after measuring my light housing, and see what suggestions they have, I seen that there is a place in VA that does them, they are not really close, but if I have trouble doing the retrofit myself then I may see if I can pick up a left and right headlight assembly from a junkyard, hopefully I could mail them to them, and not have to drive a long way to get them done.
Besides retaining my original assemblies gives the the option of swapping them if the inspection place gives me problems.

Those places that do it for you usually do mail order. I've seen one (but since forgotten of course) that you could either provide the housings or they would find/buy them. They did a bang up job too.

Good to know, I may just pay somebody to do it then if I have the cash, because I'll be doing a lot of other stuff like strut work, so I have plenty enough to do coming up.

I still need to measure, but I am looking at this currently, not sure it will fit yet, but is says it is "mini" so hopefully it would fit.

Drop the Osram bulbs and go with the Morimoto ones. They're a quality bulb and will save you $150 that the Osram ups the price.

I like the idea of a Quad HID setup and put the Bi-Xenon in the highbeam spot. That way I'd have 4 low beam HIDs and then BAM high beam HIDs. I like how they did the switchback all the way across too for DRL/turn signal, but I don't like the fact that it'* not on when the headlights are on. I like my "all-on" mod.
