Default 2000 Regal LS with Engine Squeak I need a hand with...

Hello! First time post. I have a 2000 LS that has 235K Miles. I've truly had to do little but change the oil, brakes, a serpentine belt and a few rollers here and there. The other day the wife was driving it and it developed this squeak. I spent about 20 minutes with a rubber hose trying to pin point it, and it sounds like it'* either coming from the back left injector or its under the valve cover, but I cant quite determine where. I've unplugged the injector cable and the noise didn't go away. I've pasted the video at the top of the post, take a listen and tell me what you think. I'm a pretty seasoned shade tree mechanic and went right for the Alternator or Tensioner Pulley when I heard that noise, but no dice. They aren't the culprit.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Bryan

First, that'* the back right corner. And I would pull the belt off and see if the noise is still there.

As I'm standing in front of the engine the alternator is on the left hand side, so I don't know what you mean by back right corner, but will pull the belt off in the morning to see what'* up.

Thanks

The right and left of the car is determined by the person sitting in the drivers seat. Drivers side is left, passenger side is right.

Just like your left is your left. If a car was a person, the headlights would be it'* eyes and the passenger side is the right side of the car.

It was a tough one for me to remember at first..working with a mechanic though..you learn the lesson quickly.

Thanks for straightening me out on the engine directions. I removed the belt and the squeal/squeak remains..

Looking for some magic suggestions for sure..

Thanks!

OK, the only thing spinning is the harmonic balancer. So I would be looking around that very close. There'* a plastic shroud behind the harmonic balancer. It'* possible that has moved a bit and rubbing.

I duct taped a hose to my iphone to try to help visualize where the noise was the loudest. I start at the Harmonic Balance and work my way up to the back left of the engine where I hear it the loudest.

Tell me what you think.. Thanks!

Very odd, sounds loudest right around the alternator. How does the oil look? How about your oil pressure?

Plenty of oil in it, one of the first thing I checked, has about 4000 miles on the oil but not black.. I'd call it reasonably clean. How to I verify the oil pressure on this engine?
