My 93 Park Avenue is on its 3rd front transmission mount, and the new part didn't fit really good, meaning the bolt holes didn't match, and the design looks....... slightly different than what I took off the car.

Not only that, the rear driver'* just broke, and I replaced it a year and a week ago. There were no apparent issues with the old one, but I was putting in a new engine cradle, so I replaced that difficult to reach one. The part was slightly different looking, and fit a little different. I thought this was because the new part was an improved design.

Not only that, but I've had issues with mounts that I install everyday at the shop from the regular parts stores nearby, who carry "known" brands of parts. Some mounts have the studs pressed in, and it is real fun when they break loose when you go to thread the nuts in. Some fit the motor or transmission half an inch lower or higher and you've got to mess with everything that isn't lined up with the mount. Some have the bolt holes drilled a millimeter or 2 off so when you have 2 bolts threaded in, you find you can't line up the third bolt hole with the mount!

Does anyone have any luck with a good mount for the rear driver'* on these cars?

i dont know which it is but alot of people say they use a hockey puck. do a search on here for hockey puck mod.

I don't remember if your car has a right side engine mount on the side near the center of the engine. If so, these tend to wear and allow a lot of movement. 3 hockey pucks fit well in there, and will hold the engine firm. You will feel a bit more vibration, but may help the other mounts that are just a little better then a marshmallow.

The front motor mount is the one that sits on the center of the engine, and bolts onto the strut tower frame rail. I've never touched it, and it looks good. The one I am talking about is a rear transmission mount. practically right under your feet where it bolts onto the engine cradle. The replacement part didn't seem much better right from the box. It seems they did not weld or secure the mount properly onto the bracket. Not wanting to pay big $$ for GM'* mount, I welded it up, and should work good. Just need to find the time to put it in.

Except for the front motor mount, the rest are all new, and the cradle mounts are all new. I also welded nice thick steel plates on my cradle to keep it from rusting out fast where the mounts bolt in. The cradle mounts were NOT cheap, and since I live in the rust belt, everything had to be replaced. I suppose I like the car too much.

That rear mount really doesn't have much to it. It'* just one step above marshmallow.

Its done and in. No more snapping noises. Now to wait till the guys come in to fix our alignment machine. I just find it annoying that 2 aftermarket mounts were not made properly.
