Courtesy lights problem (fixed)
I have a 1994 Le Sabre with just bare bones options. None of the fancy lighting or even keyless entry.
The courtesy lights will flicker on and off driving the car, sometimes staying on for a couple of minutes before off again. Sometimes they stay off while driving.
A couple of times they came on after I parked the car, had to finally just pull the fuse.
Everything works properly: no fuses being blown, manually able to turn lights on and off with switch, lights come when any door is opened and goes out when door is closed(usually!).
The last time the lights got stuck "on" the only door that was opened was the drivers door. So I pulled the door panel to have a look at the switch. All looked good, and naturally could not get the problem to repeat. I used a spray white grease on the latch and as much of the switch arms as possible, even though could not see any sticking or binding.
Drove the car few times and all seemed good, untill today started same thing again.
Any way to pin point the exact cause of this.
I assume the latch has to be removed to replace this swith?
Sorry for the winded edition, trying to describe it fully.
Thanks
Joel

Just thought I would update this thread. I replaced the courtesy light relay with a BWD #R3115 last week. After several short trips around town, so far the problem has not returned. I just hope I'm not "patting" myself on the back too soon!
