I am in need of desperate answers , I have a 1995 Buick park avenue ultra with a 3.8 V6 supercharged ,I am having problems with the mass air flow sensor , I have hooked up a code reader to the computer and I had zero feed back on the read out until I wiggled some wires and then it would read out for a few seconds and then was gone , so I replaced the wires that I thought was back and still no read out and have moved all the wires in the harness and still have no read out on the sensor and also have installed a new plug in , my father has anther vehicle and we switch mass air flow sensors to see if that was the issue and it works fine and reads out thru his computer , so now I am left scratching my head at what to do

I'm confused as to what your question is. You replaced the MAF with another one and it works?

If it doesn't work with your MAF and it does work with another MAF, replace the MAF. What about that would cause you to scratch your head?

What I gather is that the "problematic" maf sensor was moved to another vehicle, and did not exhibit any issues while in the other vehicle.

With that comes more questions however. Namely, did you move the known working maf to the vehicle in question? If so, was it behaving exactly as before?

If so, it'* likely either a wiring/connection concern, or PCM issue.

When we swapped the MAF sensor the other vehicle did not mess up and was reading a good output with the computer but when we tried with the Buick it was not registering and we have changed the wires that had a problem in them but the maf will not register at all now in the Buick , could this be a PCM or bad MAF

Let'* take a couple of steps back if we could please.

From what I gather, there is no indicated MAF sensor data on the Buick when connected to a scanner. Anything is suspect at this point, however the chances of the MAF sensor itself being at fault are lower because it has been tested in another vehicle, and did provide MAF readings in the alternate vehicle.

When you clear codes on the problem vehicle, what is the MAF code that actually sets?

When we cleared the codes it keeps showing P0101 and it has got me scratching my head

The internet suggests that code p0101 sets when the maf input is not what is expected, so one of two things is happening. Either the computer is not receiving the correct maf data, or it is expecting the wrong data based on other sensor data including the map and tps inputs. What other symptoms is the car showing?
