95 PA ultra supercharged couple issues
 

Greetings all,

My 95 PA Ultra, has this issue when I get to 50 and 60 mph. It happens when I accelerate or decelerate to either one, the tranny kinda jumps, she has 82k miles on her. I doesn't diminish performance, but it's just does it. Could it be that I'm using cheap gas in it? I do get crappy gas mileage, but I do mostly stop and go driving, I'd say I get around 13-15 per

Also, right after I bought it, the gas door won't open with the inside release and my button lock system inside stopped working at the same time, and it doesn't auto lock after I put it in gear and start driving. I do not have the keyless entry unit that came with the car and refuse to drop $200 on getting a new one from the dealer if this is indeed the case. But for the first week I had it, it all worked fine.:confused:

Being an old car, I'm suspecting your feeling the whole engine/trans rock when the torque convert locks up and unlocks. This is due to bad mounts. Usually the forward mount goes. Best way to test this is to pop the hood open, leave the car in PARK and while watching the engine, move the car forward and backwards. If you see the whole engine moving backwards and forwards, you have a bad mount.

As long as your not romping on it, cheap or 87 octane gas won't bother anything. The high octane is used in engines that are boosted and its to help prevent pre-detonation of the fuel before the computer actually commands a spark. This can actually destroy an engine.

As far as the door locks, are you saying they are all inoperative from either button? Read here...https://www.gmforum.com/electrical-1...1999-a-303224/

All the door locks on the inside stopped working the same time the fuel door release did. No idea. I read in one of the older posts that when using low octane gas, the knock sensor may retard the timing causing crappy gas mileage etal, I'm paraphrasing the PM article that was posted, so using higher octane gas would help. This pig is supercharged if that matters. I'll check the mounts. Thanks again.

Yes, I knew your engine was supercharged, but still, you can run 87, and yes, timing will be retarded but it only gets retarded if the PCM sees knock. Which usually only happens under boosted conditions or the engine is running real hot.

they are likely on the same fuse. you check fuses? i remember alot of 90's cars that would stop doing one thing like locking or unlocking but not the other and they were on different fuses, and the one would be with the cig lighter and be blown for whatever reason
