it appears that they shaft in the supercharger is broken. how do I repair? can I access it without pulling the entire supercharger?

Now...Thats not to common to break the shaft. Ur gonna have to pull the SC off the motor and rebuild it. Ur gonna want to replace the seals, and prolly the bearing and coupler also. And check the "rotors" for damage, and see if the coating is chipping off

The shaft is broke? NOt heard of that happening. You sure it'* not the coupler? You can remove just the snout, but it will be a bit messy. Suck out the oil, remove the one bolt behind the snout that goes in to the LIM. Then remove the bolts holding it to the case. There are two on the bottom, make sure you got them all.

I haven't heard of a shaft breaking. The couplet might be your problem like Dan said and the SC snout is pretty easy to take off. The other problem could be that your pulley on the shaft is slipping. But, that could be a sign that something is wrong inside the snout - like the coupling failing and it'* blocking the gears sprokets.

ok. so after more inspection it is snout that is is the problem. the pulley in the snout is broken. so i need to remove the snout. my question is how much do I have to pull off to get to the snout. i hae found the two bolts on the bottom it appears that i have to pull the brakect that holds the tensioner pulley and all the items attached.

I say just pull the supercharger. You will need a new SC gasket, 2 rubber O rings and a new throttle body gasket. Less effort then removing the alternator.

Perfect time to rebuilt the supercharger and make it good for another 100,000+ miles! Kinda pointless to do a half job.. Get er Done
