What were all the suspension ride RPO'* for the 2005 Buick Le Sabre Custom?
I know I have a RPO FE1 Soft Ride, were there any other ride options for the 2005 Buick Le Sabre Custom?
The reason I ask is awhile back I replaced my rear air shocks and one GM dealer said they didn't make the original rear air shocks anymore. He said all they had was ACDELCO 504165 shocks which were to stiff and do not look like the originals. Another GM dealer said the 2006 Buick Lucerne original rear air shocks ACDELCO 504150 will fit on the 2005 Buick Le Sabre and they are identical to the 2005 Buick Le Sabre original shocks. So I had the 1st GM dealer put on those. The ride was a back like it was. I don't know why other dealers don't know that you can use the 2006 Buick Lucerne original rear air shocks on the 2005 Buick Le Sabre. Rock Auto doesn't know ether.

In the near future I might have to change my front shocks/struts.
Are the front shocks a FE1 ride shock also?

Thank for the help,.

The front shocks are not air ride.
Give me the Vin to your car and I can do some checking for you. There are several different RPO codes for the suspensions in those cars.

Why wouldn't you use the 504-547'* made for the 2005 Buick Le Sabre? It'* the Air Soft Ride system?
I just looked it up and it'* only 100$ for the set? http://amzn.to/2zE4N4t

A. The GM dealer put on MONROE
MA822 shocks they are a direct swap out. No changing hoses and compressor spring. That is why they use them over the 504-547'*. The MA822 were really hard hitting on road bumps.
The other GM dealer said they had complaints about the MA822 and after checking they found out that the 2006 Lucerne shock will fit on the 2005 Lesabre. They are AC Delco #15211378 . Now they use ACDELCO 504150 . A little different looking but will give you the original ride.
I think the MA822 and the ACDELCO 504165 are really the same shock or close to it.

What components on a 2005 Lesabre make it a FE1.

The lucerne shocks will not work on your lesabre without modification. I am not sure what you mean about changing the hoses and compressor rings. Is something wrong with the compressor? If you're only replacing the air shock it self all you have to do is disconnect the old airline to the shock and after installing the new shock reinstall the old line on the new shock.

The reason the Lucerne shock will not work is because of the top mount. The Luceren has a 2 bolt mount on the top (which I know can be removed but the travel is only 4.5 inches) compared to the Lesabre single bolt top mount which is 6 inches. If you don't mind the car sitting lower in the rear than normal then the Lucerne shocks will work fine. It might even sit level but just bottom out when hitting bumps in the rear.

The 547'* I linked earlier are perfect fits though.
