I couldn't tell you. They should be able to check what the final gear range is on the transmission in your car, and may be able to find out what the gear ratio was on your old transmission. But as far as changing the tune, that's really hard to say. It takes software to do that.

Oh well thanks a lot for the info really appreciated i'll have to go monday and i'll let you know what happens.

Well i went to the transmission shop to have it scanned and they said there was nothing wrong with it. In fact they said it was dealing with the exhaust and that either the cat conv. or egr was clogged and that it should be cleaned. What do you think?

There are several things that determine when the trans shifts. If the cat goes bad you should get a rear O2 sensor code, you had a front O2 sensor code. Seeing that you have a code that needs to be taken care of before anything else. Don't see how the EGR would effect shifting. I don't even have a EGR on my car. The problem I mentioned wont show up on a scan, the trans would be fine. It's in the PCM that the problem likely lis. Shifting is triggered by RPM and MPH. So lets say you have higher gears now then what you had, you would reach the RPM first. Then the PCM will try to get the MPH to where it should be but hit's the rev limiter. I still think the problem is in he new transmission being different then your old one.

So i should just take care of the O2 sensor first then if the problem still persists?

This is what i am experiencing on #5 about the rpm so i think it is the sensor. http://www.gearchatter.com/viewpost14225.php. All i need to know is what the part is called like what would i type in when i go on the autozone website.

Front O2 sensor

Well had the o2 sensor replaced and the problem is still there
