Yeah I read the same a while back, sometimes the line breaks off of the nipple on the inside of the programmer.
And yeah those nipples on the clear harness are easy to break when trying to remove the hoses..

I see they remove that whole clear harness, I tried that with my car one time, and was unable to get it to come off..

great green gobs of sour owl manure, that clear harness for the colored lines will NOT come off, PITA, since I was able to get another programmer from ebay, perhaps I should take my dremmel tool and cut out the harness out of the old programmer, thank you for the info, I am having trouble getting to the site for some reason

Yeah man I feel your pain, I used a little deep socket on that little nut on that connector, and tried to wiggle it for like 15 minutes, it was not coming off no matter what, so I was forced to give up.

Are you having trouble accessing the link I posted?
If so I'll copy and paste the pics, apparently those male ends holding the clear connector on can get soft, if they do then they say that is the problem.
If not they say it is the programmer itself.

I clicked on your name and sent a reply and described how i got the clear harness off, the male connectors are soft and rubbery I take it they are suppose to be solid, are there any replacement parts for that harness?

I think they may have meant to post it here.
The way they got the connector off was pretty smart, they used a small pick, like you would do on a stuck on a water pump hose, via the big pick/hook tool.


The connectors are supposed to be solid, if they are rubbery as you say then that is most likely your issue.
You cannot really find that hose harness part with the male nipples anywhere that I know of, other than salvage yards.
That site said "You can use the connector from anything as old as 86 to replace it with."
You could try this link to see if you can find the part on a car in a yard near you.
Just search for something AC related, and if you find a car nearby go check it out and see if you can get that connector, not sure how likely you will find a good solid connector, but it is possible.

Another thing you could do, if you can find something like a connector to connect a cut hose together, then you could just bypass the black make nipple harness altogether, just cut the hoses keeping them as long as possible, and connect them together directly.
Right off I am not sure what would work, but given the size of the little hoses maybe try a small piece of aquarium pump tubing.
If I have any other ideas I'll let you know.

Oh yeah, one other thing, you did notice the warning on that site about buying a new programmer right?

They posted a pic of the type they were talking about.

here are some pictures to help anyone with this type of problem concerning on how to get the clear plastic harness off of the progammer box, I took a small pick with a 90 degree angle and inserted it gently into the cavity and in behind the clear plastic harness and gently tugged all the way around while at the same time grabbing the harness and moving it up, down, back and forth, keep doing this procedure, you must have patients, it will come off.

I hope I was able to post this in a manner so that everyone could benefit, having a hard time navigating this site, let me know how I did
