The CE light came on, after check it it showed as the MAF.
Code P0102

I took it out cleaned it with MAF cleaner, after starting it and running it a couple of times the CE light went out but then back on again, haven't checked to see what that code is yet.

If it is the MAF again, my question is this, is there something else that could show the MAF as an issue besides the MAF ?
If not I'll bite the bullet and buya new one.

You would need a high end scanner to diagnose the MAF sensor. And really, the only thing you would be seeing is either the HZ reading or the PCM'* version of airflow its seeing. Otherwise, you can't really test it.

99% of the time, its the sensor itself. So replace it. Don't go with the cheap ones, they are cheap for a reason.

I don't have a problem with replacing it if it will work, but reading stuff on the web, I don't seem to have a lot of the typical issues (although there seem to be a wide variety) I don't have the stalling, or a lot of sputtering.... mostly I get a jerk once in a while (almost seems like the trans slipping in/out of gear).... very brief and quick.
I suppose it could be because of the ECM ect getting and giving wrong info to the rest of the system.... ?

I'd always go AC Delco personally, this is the cheapest place I have seen it.

If that is too costly you could try a Dorman one, usually Dorman makes some decent quality products, Rock Auto has it for 78.79
I'd still go for the AC Delco if you can.

If you are getting the MAF "lower than expected voltage" code, then if there is not a problem with your wiring, then it is the MAF itself, sometimes they fail to the point that they have to be replaced.

It is possible it could be causing that, but it is hard to know for sure.
When my MAF had issues I had the tip come off and spin around in the throttle body bore, and it would cause it to run horribly intermittently, once I found the issue, and removed the broken tip, it still ran a bit sluggish, and it would cut off when I stopped at a light, unless I lightly stepped on the pedal.
I replaced it and the problem went away, of course I never got a MAF code at all, but that is typical as the MAF can fail, and it won't always throw a code unless it totally fails..
