02 lesabre Keyfob Please!!
Can anyone please help me solve my keyfob problem?
2002 Buick lesabre came with only one keyfob which is lost. I managed to replace and program the transponder key despite info online saying it had to be done by dealer or..... I have tried the few methods for gm found commonly online with no success. Found many stating only can be done with tech 2 scan tool.. what's the truth? I have taken this neglected car and given it new life with time hard work lots of love and a bit of money . I bought two new keyfobs and have grown weary from searching and following geese across the vast net although it seems today the "vast net" is the tiny net as if blunders are forced on the sides as to coral your every search into circles always back to the same dead ends .... miss the good old seconds we had open wide world web... cheers and thank you for any help.. thank you thank u! |
I believe it does require a programmer. Many locksmith shops are able to do this.

Do-It-Yourself programming procedure is not available for this vehicle. This vehicle requires a diagnostic equipment to be connected to the vehicle to program the remote. You will need to find a local automotive locksmith or a dealer to program this remote.

The info is correct.This car needs a scan tool to program the transmitters ,and ALL transmitters have to be programmed at the same time.When put into learn mode all previously learned transmitters are errased

Negative, you are going to need a shop that has something like a Tech 2 scanner, the dealerships have them, of course they won't be really cheap, it should not be too bad since it won't take them long...

Should be minimum 1 hour shop/diag fee.

Thank you for all your input.. This is basically my first attempt to ask help in a forum like this despite having signed up years ago when I had my first buick..

Last time I had it done on a friend's GM it was a 1-hour shop charge. The programming takes like ten minutes really, but the setup etc. takes a little longer.
