Default torque curves or dyno results from 3.5?

im just interested to see how it compares to the various 3800s around...ive google the heck out of all the terms i can think of, i cant even find the info on GMs website, its like they dont want to acknowledge the existence of this motor.

i already know how it "feels" in comparision to the series 2, it can best be summed up in a very boring low to midrange, almost seeming underpowered at times, then just above 3k it revs waaaay faster than the series 2 and your in the powerband of this engine very quickly and you better hold on to your beverage of choice, cause buddy were goin for a ride!

so i know that this engine doesnt have the chunky bottom end and nice flat torque curve, id just like to see it on paper.

the LX5 (3.5 V6) is the bold line. The 3800 L36 is the thinner graph.

well thats definetely interesting...i was surprised to see the L36 pulling that much harder than the 3.5...up until 4k at least....

i knew the butt dyno wasnt lying, seemed like it didnt pull as hard at low rpms...and then after 3-4k it was a whole different feel...which as shown on that chart where the 3800 fades out the 3.5 just keeps on goin...thanks Custom, it was nice to see what i already knew on paper!

anyone know the fdr of the 4t65 in each car?? i think the intrigue had 2 different ones available, the 3.5 would need some more aggressive gears to keep up with the 3800

sorry for digging this up again, but i wanted to reply to mikey'* question..

from what ive discovered all Intrigue'* with the 3.5 WITHOUT the Precision Control System are equipped with a 3.05 ratio...all of them WITH the PCS have a 3.29...

to the best of my knowledge i do not have PCS, i have TCS so i guess i have a 3.05.

it makes sense too, as the Bonneville i had had the 3.06, and with the cruise set at 70 it turned almost exactly 2k rpms, with the cruise set at 70 in this car its just under 2k.

and mikey, i know this goes way back to the Alero vs Intrigue discussion...but i do have fold down seats, as does almost every other Intrigue out there. just thought id toss that in there.

were fold down seats a option? where is the lever? because i didn't see it on my girlfriends, i saw some anchors for a baby seat, thats all i can think of, nothing in the trunk. hers is a 01

i think hers is 3.05....i know there'* a button for tcs, so id imagine its the same as yours.

im sure you know alot more about intrigues then me, with that pcs, does that have the higher speed limit? i thought some could do 130 or 140, were some were governed at around 108 (kind of like the autobahn package on the auroras, 3.48 vs 3.71 and 108 vs 140)

i dont have levers to fold down the seats, there are small little loops at the top corner of each seat that you pull on...somewhat nearby the baby anchors...

and ive always heard that the 140 speedo is a lie and that they are governed to 107...but ive also heard that the earlier models like 98-99 did have some sort of Autobahn package and could go up to 128ish...i have yet to test this theory on mine...and from my understand the Autobahn package and the PCS seem to coexist..but im not really sure, that was just from some quick googling...i need to just let it all hang out one day and see what shell do...ive had it up to 90-95 quite a few times..whats 10 more mph?
