Default Motor Trend'*'First Drive' article on the GXP

SMALL,short-take article on the '04 GXP,...saying Pontiac is replacing hype and body cladding with Horsepower."In spite of it'* aging platform, numbish Magnasteer, yestertech four-speed automatic transaxle, and plebian front-drive,the GXP is good fun to drive. It'll move five passengers in fast comfort all day long.A bargain priced E55?Hardly,but an honest attempt by Pontiac to make good on it'* "we build excitement" claims."

I'm excited when they start to do some full reports! I get Motor Trend regularly and saw the article too, was hoping for a longer, more in depth one! :? :?:

they would complain about something else if GM changed it to their likings. I would take a FWD over a RWD car anyday (safety reasons).

Well it'* a good thing you're wrong, 00+ Bonnies are G bodies.....

I think RWD and performance tranny would make it a 5 series contender, albeit cheaper. They'll probably say the HUD is gimicky, the radio sucks, there'* no top end power. magazines love compact cars, they like american cars, as long as they are things like the focus, or neon SRT 4, etc. They want the pontiac solstice, and i've seen more on sunflowers then bonnies. Geez they sell tons, and they have things like HUD that no one else has.

A G body would be a old cutlass, like a 88 (RWD, not the fwd)
