Default Sure is cold on the passenger side......

Now that it is getting cooler, I have been running the heater some. I noticed that it seemed a little cool in the car in the mornings. This evening, my 12 year old son said, "Dad, when is Bonne going to warm up?" I said it already was and that I was actually hot. He said, "It sure is cold on the passenger side"!

The heat is great on the driver'* side, but blowing ice-cold air on the passenger side. Switched between manual vs. auto temp control, floor, panel, defrost, rotated temperature selection - no difference. Anything coming out of the passenger side is ice-cold. The driver'* side is hot.

Any suggestions?

There are heater/cooling controls for each side. If you turn the right ****, you will see the temperature setting for the passenger side. Left is for drivers side.

Seriously? Are you having a bad day? Give me a break........

Something is not switching. When I rotate the passenger temperature control, the air temperature doesn't change.

I've heard of this, but only during the summer where it wouldn't blow cold air. This is a new one for me.

I am getting kind of used to hearing that with this car! I've done more searching on the site. Would the air mix actuator do this?

The name sounds like it could control that.

Hey.... itz happened here more than once.

The car has dual climate control and two actuators. Either the passenger mechanism is stuck or the actuator motor broke. I havent been inside the dash or know of anyone w/GXP that has. But always been a bitch of a job in cars past though.

Well, you may have a point. I have seen some pretty interesting posts online - water under the bridge.

I will tear it apart and post how it goes.

Would be an awesome writeup. I did a search of the Forum about it and only found one other thread with this problem in a newer Bonne. It ended unresolved. There was a similar one but that was the opposite problem and fixed with a freon charge.
