Do you know what code they scanned? For them to know your CEL is lit due to a wheel sensor they would require a Tech II scanner, and I don't think any Autozones carry those.

i read many threads on people with trouble with their speed sensor, as far as i know it wont set a check engine light, did they both come on at the exact same time?

I renamed your thread, to see if it gets more attention.
Generally, if a wheel speed sensor goes out, that'll usually set the Traction Off and ABS lights. Not sure about Check Engine.

We see this alot and a good many of them are fixed by merely taking the WSS wire coupling apart, and smearing some dielectric grease in the contacts. Always good to try this first.

A basic OBDII scanner won't read the ABS/Trac codes, which I think are Body codes. But I did get my Body codes read at my second Autozone. The first Autozone'* reader was broken and the sent me to the other Zone.

On my wifes 2000 Buick Century the abs/traction and check engine lights all came on when the left front speed sensor went on the wheel bearing. All lights went off after bearing replaced.
