rear wheel road rash on GXPs

My GXP has mud flaps on the rear that look good. Small, not overstated. However, they rub the curb on my steep driveway and I really need to remove them before they cause damage from scraping. My rear quarters are in perfect condition, not a single chip anywhere after 22K miles. What does everyone else's look like? Should I search for some different brand of flaps that are more flexible or maybe try to move them higher? My old SSEi has alot of road rash behind both sets of wheels, and I'd like to avoid that again.

Get the ones at the Dealer. They have Pontiac Logo mudflaps in the Parts Dept. that are great. I have them front and back. They dont come down to far and as mentioned have the Ponctuiac logo just peeking under the body line. Very flexible as well. I hit the front wind deflector more than the mudflaps slammed to the ground. The front wind deflector is half gone, but at least its even. Thinking of pop riveting a magnesium strip to it.

PS, U know this is going to get moved. ;)

splash guards eh....

here are what you need as John suggested

and mine are mounted LOW, and when i mean LOW i mean LOW, just ask anyone that has ridden in my car, they have been scraped over and over again and again...

but my theory was this....i know the SSEI's have the road rash issues, so i set out to stop this from happening, i figured that $14 is cheaper than having the car replainted because of the chipping of the road rash

did i mention they were low

and the rears are mounted so that nothing would contact the rear either

after 27K i have NO stone chips anywhere on the lower half of the car

Those are identical to what I have (except for the logo). They are mounted so only the flared bottom is showing and they still rub on my driveway. I'm not sure you can mount those any higher or they will look funny. They seem to be molded for a certain mount height. You can go lower (like 1993 SLE) but not really higher.

Your right, the post should be moved. I get stuck on the GXP aspect.

Thats them....I have mine up where the raised section is less than one inch from the body and bare;y peeking out the sides. I think they look great, they never hit, and no chips. You must have a driveway from hell. My car sits a fingers width to the tire in the back.
