My Dad'* 02 Lesabre doesn't have one and I did a radiator in a 03 Grand Prix a couple years ago and I don't remember that car having one. I removed the front knock sensor to drain coolant.

If you can't find one and your eco-friendly. Run to Lowes and get some plastic 1/8" tubing. About 5ft worth. Insert one end into the radiator and snake it to the bottom of the radiator, grab 5 gallon bucket and siphon it. Works for me.

Oh, and once you do get about 1/2 gallon of coolant in the bucket, remove the upper rad hose/and thermostat from the engine, this will allow the coolant in the engine to flow back into the radiator. Otherwise, it gets siphon locked in the engine.

After reading your advice, I realized our rads don't have the cap on them. It is on the overflow container. Remember, I have the N*, not a 3800 v-6. The rad must have a petcock or drain valve.

Most of the GM/DELPHI replacement radiators do not have a petcock. They will have a opening for it but it is molded shut. I mention this because I pulled a GM OEM radiator with a petcock, and the OEM replacement radiator had the petcock opening sealed.

This is the original radiator. Car only has 60K mileage. I just need to know where the petcock is.

I don't know why GM stopped using the petcock in the early 2000'*. It'* been a while since I worked on a north star but I'm pretty sure there is a plug in the block into the coolant passages. I have a wide funnel I use and usually pop the lower hose off and try and catch as much as I can. It is frustrating cause it'* almost impossible not to make a mess.

The problem here I see is the radiator hoses attach 1/2 way up the core on both sides. I heard on another forum that there is a 19mm plug
on the drivers side. I'm still looking for it. Just short of removing the radiator to drain, i'm not sure what to do.
