Default Next model year'* hp??

Seeing as how the new GP GXP V8 will have both a bigger engine and similar hp as the bonne gxp, I'm assuming the bonnie will be getting some sort of up in #*. Anyone got any ideas? I'm thinking the Bonneville GXP is prolly gonna keep a 10-20 hp lead over the GP GXP.. hard as that may be. It just wouldn't seem correct to have their flagship come with less hp. Ideas?

I think they're after two different markets with these cars. The Bonne is bigger and heavier so it will need quite a bit to get even. I would love to see the DOD on the Bonne to aid the fuel economy.

true, .. so you also think they are gonna up its numbers for when the GP GXP comes? (sounds like you do).

and not to hijack my own thread but: They better not do something like name it a G8.. not only is the bonneville a historical name for pontiac (no other car in their lineup is as old as it, and no other car comes close to the bonneville name'* ~48 years of continuous sale. The GP was intro'd later than the bonnie, the GTO came 7 years after the bonnie and (obviously) was interrupted for about 30 years before they came out with this new one... i dont think i need to note that the sunfire / vibe / montana / etc are also way newer names haha.

In 2006 the Caddy gets a supercharger for the 4.6 L.

I would think that the GP and Bonne GXP'* will have the same engine with the same output.
The GP has always been faster due to its lighter weight.

I take that back....know corporate GM philosophy....the Caddy will always have more stock hp. Probably variable cam timing and other upscale $$ features.

Default GXP horsepower

Let'* face it, if GM had the H-platfrom on a rear-drive chassis, all they would have to do is put an Ls1 motor in the Bonnie GXP ..........add a six-speed stick, charge the same price ...and , well, the 300c would be history. Trouble is, there'* not much GM can do about the power in the GXP. Since its front drive, anything over 300 Hp would create monster tourqe steer...and intstead of the complaint being lack of power,we'd be discussing anti-tourqe steer measures. And me we all be spared a lawsuit against GM for tourqe steer causing an accident....
Given what they had to work with, Gm did a good job with the GXP .....and I'm not alone in that sentiment

Well the current platform came out for the 04 model year... Think of it as a kick in the pants or last huzzah, before the RWD changeover.
