i have the VIN number. and went in to the local dealership this afternoon to find out what the GM proformance badge p/n was

the build code for my GXP is 256003 last 6 of the vin what is the production number of this car can anyone tell me....

With GXP'* Still not sold. (And we are seeing 2007 models out now) , GM has been very hush hush about production numbers even for totals. The only reference i have found was in GM Insider and that was that 2500 were made in '04. Dont even know if thats a true number being they are not tied to GM. Been looking around for numbers and color breakdowns and such sice January and havent goten anywhere.

i would be interested in see'ing other GXP owners build numbers them being the last 6 of the vin and sorry mine is 256033 maybe looking at them together we could figure something out..

12th to 17th characters- VIS - Vehicle Identifier Section. The last 8 characters of the VIN are used for the identification a of specific vehicle. The last four characters shall always be numeric. Identifies the sequence of the vehicle for production as it rolled off the manufacturers assembly line.

means mine was the 6033 bonneville to roll off the line
but what number GXP is it some more research should prove interesting

My #'* are 193905. The all last 6 digits cant be a build numer..... Some thing else in there must be alloted for. It took a long while to dig in the Club Basement (search button) but found a link for the final production numbers for 04-05. They are listed in the Investor/media section.

With Pontiac only making a total of 10,037 Bonnevilles in '05 down from 29,852 in '04, the last six digits doesnt work. After extensive searching when this post came out and again when you got my interest up again, No other statistics are available as to model/ color breakdown is available. Will said in a post a long while back that the 2500 GXP'* made in '04 sounded right as it was close to the average SSEi'* that were being made. This number was in GM Insider not a GM site and not
always right. For instance they were saying a GXP was near production since 2001, and have been beating a drum about a G8 on a zeta chassis (it'* changed back and forth as to the true chassis But makes financial sense) since the release of the Lucerne... And now the Firebird/Camaro? I'm not holding my breath for a '08 release.

When I looked at mine in the showroom the salesman, he mentioned that he wasnt sure but had heard that there were only 600 made in 05.
Never trusted him but considering 2500 GXP'* were made in the lot of near 30,000 Bonnies made for '04 and getting sluggish sales from the start, Maybe 600 isnt unrealistic. ??? Whatever the real total, both GXP'* in time will be considered rare with the '05 more so.

Rob, were you trying to get the P/N for the silver performance badges or you just wanted to know about production numbers for the GXP? I thought you wanted the P/N, but everyone else is talking about the production numbers.

but what im also trying to do find out how many and what number my GXP is.. I have alot of time on my hands no that its starting to get cold out side. and winter is comming.

i have an 05 gxp bought locallly in aug. 04 last 6 0f serial 109540

My 05 was built in May 2005 and has #247627

My 05 was built 6/04 and is number 106545.
Seems like a pretty early build fro a 2005?

Not really Zeevert, if you consider it could have been one of the first to roll of the truck at a deales .lotr in Aug 04. Model years are a big con game anymore. I saw some 07 Import models in early summer, it'* like WTF? Also I .I still havent seen any evidence that the '05 is different than an 04, 'cept the title. They propbably repapered 04'* when the model year ran out.Wouldnt put it past them.
