Default Hard shifting into Park

When I try to put my car into park, the shifter has a REALLY hard time moving up to the park position. I am very gentle on my shifter when shifting into P from 3 or OD, easily shifting thru N and R but its very hard to shift into Park from that point. Tonight I really had to slam the shifter into park.

Any ideas?

Something misaligned? Not familiar with the linkage, though.

I took it in. Turns out to be a broken shift retainer, some piece of plastic crap...

*sigh*...oh well...

They love my car..lol considering the guy that used to own it works there, but someone did a shoddy job of putting my console back together, the shift indicator light housing is not properly attached. Looks like a gotta rip it out myself and fix er
