Headlight question, quick help please

Ok, looking to get the wife a set of HID's for her birthday. She doesn't have the greatest night vision (long story, actual medical problem) and I thought she'd like them.

Question is, I went out and pulled the bulbs out to see what model they were. The lows were 9011's, and the highs are 9005's, does this sound right? I thought the GXP's had 9005/9006's? Unfortunately I don't have an owner's manual. What are the correct bulbs?

Also, I believe I can disable the DRL's by pulling the relay, but has anyone wired up the lows to run all the time? Is tying the high beam hot lead to the low's through a diode sufficient? Or is there a smoother way of accomplishing this?

And before someone posts up w/ "HID's aren't really brighter, you'll blind people, retro kits are a waste of money, you should spend thousands and get a projector setup, etc. etc"....save it. I've had HID's before, love them. They are brighter, I can see better, I'm not an idiot. Well, maybe I am an idiot, but I can tell if the headlights are brighter.

my low beams were 9006

With my 2005 GXP I ordered 9006's for my low beams and the plastic bumps on the bottom of the bulb didn't match the open holes to install the bulbs in on the headlight assembly. I had to clip off one of the bumbs to make it work. The plug is the same as the 9006 it's just the pattern of the plastic that was different.
