A Bonneville, or not a Bonneville ?
The next Bonneville.... While GM says the're stopping production this year, the question is, what will its replacement be? They might call it a G8, but does having a V8 , front or rear-wheel drive, and high performance and quality standards make it a candidate for an aftermarket Bonneville rebadge? Will it be welcomed as the next-generation Bonneville, despite the G8 badge? Or will it be considered a completely different car?

remember the Star Chief was changed to bonneville. I think that if it is the size (or larger) than the current car, and something that is different than the GP, i will hit it. Has to be V8 and a real one at that, none of this N* crap, and AWD or RWD to compete in the current market

I refuse too! They pissed me off when the called the Grand Am replacement the G6! I don't want them to take the Bonnie name or GP name away! I want a Bonneville not so pretend Bonnie G8! Those idots in marketing! Those idots! Just like with the Pareisen! Or whatever that stupid name was!

I voted No because I also dont think it will be the same car. the g6 is not a grand-am
diff style diff engine altogether.
.
most likly if the do call the next one a G8 im sure it will have another body change
as well as a new motor.
.
the only thing that kept the GXP from not being a bonneville was they used the body of the 2000+ bonnie. but that was a good thing.

Don't know about the other Pontiac cars but the Bonne GXP would be great if they made it the same again. The only thing I would change is that it have RWD and possibly a manual / *.manual. I don't even care if it has more than 275hp has I don't tap into its full potential most of the time anyway. It looks beautiful the way it is right now.

Am I the only one who is getting quite annoyed at the "new" names pontiac is using for their cars? the G6, G8.. I wonder if a G4 will show up sometime soon. :::rolls eyes::: It feels like GM cant come up with something original so they'll copy Mazda (RX8, Mazda 3, 6, ect) Its pathetic... It was nice several years ago when they took a 97-03 Grand Prix and named the Concept the G8 but since mazda is already using it for their production models now, it just feels lame to me.

I'm ready for a new car this year. And since the Bonneville'* gone I've decided on the STS-V coming out end of the year. Plenty of spirit. 440hp SC Norstar RWD.
