Lyndon at Westers Garage has "cracked" the code for the '04-'05 Bonneville GXP and needs a test vehicle to run on a dyno to fine-tune the new programming.

If I were not a couple of thousand miles away, I would do it in an instant.

If someone closer is able to take their GXP to Tilley, Alberta, Canada, we will very soon after their done, have upgraded PCM'* available!!

What will the cost for a new PCM be?

I am way too far away from there. Unfortunately, not very many of these cars were sold on the west coast.

Very exciting news. I'd be first in line to buy a proven PCM. Is this programming something added to the existing PCM, or a replacement. And with either, I wonder how it include or effect the many OEM PCM functions. (OnStar functions, Stabltrack,T/C, ABS.)

I really never thought anyone with the expertise to do such would bother with it considering the low production numbers. SOMEBODY ON THE WEST COAST, HELP YOUR GXP BROTHERS OUT!!!

From what Lyndon said, the cost will be $495.00. That is based on you sending in YOUR PCM for modification. If you need a PCM, there are additional costs. It is actual programming of the current PCM, not a "piggyback" or something of that style. Basically, he has the ability to do to our PCM, what everyone else been able to do for quite some time with other applications.

Pretty pricey for someone to throw some numbers that won't gain much, or can you make changes yourself after?

No offense, but shouldn't you wait and see WHAT the numbers are after one has been dyno'd and tuned before making a statement like that?

None taken, I'm just trying to point out that it is a fairly high price

at the most you might see 20 HP, its not like GM through a 400 HP engine in there and is somehow limiting you to what the stock specs are

if you want to see the numbers and have the money to put into it great, I'm just giving my input

I agree with you wholeheartedly regarding the price. However, if my GXP is on the LOW side of the mileage improvement that he claims I should expect, the unit will pay for itself in about a year and a half. That'* based on current gas prices. If it goes up, it could pay for itself even sooner.

In my opinion, until the idiots in charge allow us to drill for the plentiful oil supplies we have under our own feet, gas prices are going to do nothing but continue to rise.

Anything that lowers my total gas cost on the car I WANT TO DRIVE (as opposed to the Government telling me, or regulating me into what I drive) is a good thing, as long as it is with-in reason.

The price (I've contacted Lyndon) may seem high in the realm of a reflashed 3800 PCM (Dime a dozen in wrecking yards). But I can see the price, being it'* a car with only 4000 units made in 2005. And a program 3 years in the making. As for horsepower, I see alot more potential than 20 HP. Let'* remember it was de-tuned by 30HP before given to Pontiac. Not only is just tune-able HP we are talking about here, Lyndon tells me "We should be able to offer an option to anyone with any upgrade in the end".

I have no need for better mileage, but I wouldn't mind slipping one of these on.




As Kersh mentioned, They really need a GXP to firm up the software. Anybody near them could probably take home a nice tune for the price of gas to get there.
