Cabin Filter
Where is my cabin filter. I opened the cabin filter box in the engine bay but I couldn't see the filter. I would assume the holder would hold the filter but it was just the holder that I saw. Is the filter farther down and you cant see it? A picture would be nice so I can get an Idea

Actually, it didn't come with a filter. If it did, you would have seen it as soon as you pulled the cover. ;)

ok, so I havent checked yet if my car came with the filter which I'm sure it probably didnt from what I read in the other thread. So on to my question :D how often do you have to change this filter?
|
These filters were dealer installed options so you may have one. I would say there are recommendations, on the filter package, for change intervals.
I will let you know once I receive mine. |
According to Fram, the filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles, but I'm sure that depends on the environment. If you drive on dirt roads, I'm sure you'd need to change it sooner. The filter has a specially formulated media that holds charcoal to help control odors as well. It was really easy to install and based on the dealer that wanted $150 dollars, the Fram from Rockauto.com was a real bargin.

I believe I have the filter holder in my car already but not the filter.
