Default How to diable the Daytime Running Lights on a GXP?

I removed the DRL fuse from the fusebox under the hood and they still come on.The only thing I can think of is that the adjustment for the lights to come on when it is dark out is out of adjustment.I dont use the headlight switch for my lights.Does anyone know how to adjust this or what I am doing wrong?I would like to keep headlights off during the day and use my foglights for the daytime running lights.Maybe I need to read my manual and see if these can be tuned off. Thanks

There is a relay located in the relay box under the hood that I had to remove as well.

Hope this helps, any questions just feel free to ask.

I just removed the relay but it is cloudy out so I put my treble light on the windshield over the sensor in the middle of the dash and turned the car off then started it back up and the lights were off. Then I put the jumper wire on the pins marked on the relay as 30 and 87a into the plug where the relay was and it did the same as without the jumper wire installed with the headlights off.Is there some other reason to have the jumper wire installed? Also the perimeter lighting you talked about is when the lights in the car after you shut the car off slowly dim and then go off I believe. Please explain if this is correct.I ntoiced they worked with and without jumper wire installed. Also with the overcast sky outside I could not get headlights to go out until I put light over the sensor on dash that gets your headlights to come on when it gets dark out.

I just looked up perrimetr lighting in the manual and its when all the outside lights flash when you lock and unlock your car with the keyless remote control and I noticed that with the relay and fuse in the headlights flash and when you remove them the headlights wont flash but all the other lights still flash.

Perimiter Lighting is a feature (at dusk & night time) which turns on the DRL'*, front parking lights, rear tails & back up lights for a specified time period after you depress the unlock button on your remote. It'* main function is simply to provide some illumination on the exterior as you approach your car at night. It has nothing to do with security feedback when locking/unlocking doors from remote. You can configure/customize perimeter ltg, and security feedback etc at the Driver Information Center (DIC) I'm assuming the GXP'* are similar to the non GXP'* in reference to these functions. As for disabling the DRL'*, if you followed the instructions posted by Toasty, your DRL'* should be disabled no questions asked. Make sure that jumper is placed in the appropriate slots in the DRL relay socket. Again, unless the GXP'* are radically different, this mod should work.
