Default Bonny GXP or magnum

Hey guys I've just found your board through www.gp-owners.com website. I've owned two pontiac grand prixs. '97 and '01. The '01 being a GTP/GTX. Well I'm looking for a new car and part of myself is fighting over what car to get. The two cars I am looking at is one being the new bonny GXP and the other is the dodge magnum. I can't believe I said Dodge. I've owned GM cars since highschool. From Buick grand national to the pontiac grand prix. I have this person inside says to stay with pontiac but the other part of me is a little disappointed and go try a different car. First of all the new grand prixs designs are aweful. What is pontiac thinking. The new GTO? How unoriginal. The new GXP however the design of the outer body is PERFECT. Looks close to the '97-'03 grand prixs but with some refinement. What has disappointed me and Im still struggling on this is the fact its not RWD and it does have the new transmission design. A dvd navigation system would've been great too. The other part of me wants the new magnum. A station wagon yes I know but its beefy and looks unique. Its RWD and its faster than the GXP. The inside however doesnt feel like the cockpit as the GXP. I like that feeling of the GXP. Second since I've never owned a Dodge I have mix feelings spending that kind of money on one. So now I am torned bewteen the two. The GXP and Magnum are the two I am split on. Please guys let me have some opinions here. As most of you are loyal pontiac car owners would you ever switch to another brand?

Oh by the way I would like to see more pics of your GXPs. From interior to the exterior.

Well i'll be the first to tell you that on a Pontiac board your probably going to get a lot of biased opinion. For those of us able to keep and open mind about other brands you might get some sort of meaningful dialog but I doubt it The best thing I can tell you is to go drive both and see which one YOU like better. If you choose the GXP we will be here waiting with open arms. If you choose the Dodge, well at least you can say something cliche like "It'* gotta hemi in it".

Default GXP or MAGNUM

Think of this: You get off work, walk out to the parking lot and there she is; Magnum - Power under the hood, It'* cockpit mediocre. 18mos from now?? Under the hood always
gets changed, look at these forums, but the cockpit is there for the life if the car.

Use the force.

wait for the grand prix GXP, im sure it will have body enhancements just like the bonniegxp, BUT BUT BUT, a 5.3 v8 vortech engine.........muahahahaahahaha

if you think the l67 has potential, this is basically a debored (or is it de-stroked?) ls1 corvette engine, check out pontiac.com

I'd hate to go against the GXP, but I've seen the Magnum quite a few times on the road. They are pretty sleek cool looking cars, and the exhaust tone is addictive.

Well Im going to make up my mind this weekend. There is a black GXP near where I live and also a black magnum. This will be my finall decsion. You know this wouldnt be so hard of a choice if pontiac only made the bonny rwd with a 5 speed transmission and the v8 that cuts 4 cylinders to save gas. Plus a nav would good too. If I get the magnum I will return to the pontiac scene again once they change style of the grand prix and or do the changes I've requested for the GXP. I hope they dont change the outer styling of the bonny gxp since that is the best looking pontiac of all time.

Navigation? bah another toy to distract you.

You can't change RWD to FWD or vice versa. You're not driving the Hemi/RWD on snow. Like it was said, the GXP GP coming out next year will have a 5.3L v8 OHV engine. It'll haul, and be styled similar to the Bonnie GXP.

The magnum is a wagon, yes it'* one of the coolest built, but it'* still a wagon. All of those small GXP touches inside are NICE, and if you hold onto it for say 20 years, you'll have a limited collectors car. IE, when you look for a chevelle, you want the original SS with the 454....

Bonnies will be RWD around 08 too.... So you could always lease a GXP for now...

" CAN YOU SAY HEMI" GO with your heart, if you like the Magnum get it, if you like the GXP, get that. I know when my lease is up next year on my 02 SSEI, I'll be looking to get something with a HEMI badge
