Default 2005 GXP Towing

Why does the manual say NO TOWING for V8 but V6 is OK? Is it a lack of transmission cooling, or gear ratios?

There'* aftrermarket tow hitches available for all Bonny'*, what'* the deal with the GXP/V8?

I have a small, 1600#, boat that I'd like to tow..

help

I highly doubt there'd be an issue. If you find it necessary, add an oversized transmission cooler.

Also, I would think with the rather tall ratio given in the 4T80-e, you'd have an additional advantage for towing.

I bought my GXP used and it had a tow hitch on it. It only had 12K miles on the car. I hoped the previous owner used it for a bicycle rack or maybe a waverunner and not anything heavy. I took the hitch off and gave it to another BC club member.

I wonder if it is because the lower profile tires on the 18" rims can't support the additional weight? It'* hard to imagine the V8 drivetrain couldn't handle it. If it'* an issue with load on the tires, as long as the trailer is reaonably balanced there should not be a problem.
