Default 2004 Fog Light Bulb Replacement

How do I replace the fog light bulb. I can't see how to get access to it. Do panels have to come out?

Thanks

I go through the wheel well, being careful to pop out the pop rivets with out breaking them and then reaching in from behind the housing.

I have to go back in because my driver'* side WHICH I JUST CHANGED, is off and on again. I am going to try running a ground wire from the bulb housing (where the metal clip fastens) out to the frame. I am pretty sure it isn't getting grounded by the housing, thus causing my on/off flicker problem.

I take the headlight out and just reach in to change it. The first time I did it sucked but once you figure out how the clip works it is very easy. I can change both fog light bulbs in under 10 minutes now.

I tried that but couldn't get my hand down there. Can you see what you are doing that way? It'* hard to see in from the wheel well unless you take the wheel off.

Ditto here. I've done it by removing the spash pan, then I did it by removing the fender liner. But popping out the headlamp is by far the easiest way IMO. One of the clips is kind of a PITA because it interferes with the housing (passenger side IIRC). You have to first get it unclipped, then elevate it slightly to clear the housing. But like everything, practice makes perfect. It'* hard to see down there, but I can do it by feel now. The only difficulty is the clip hitting the housing, and making sure not to touch the glass part of the bulb while installing.

By the way, I like the laser blue bulbs at NAPA. They are only slightly tinted.

I am honestly very close to removing the whole damned thing, housing and all. Without a doubt these are the most pain-in-the-*** foglights I have EVER owned. We've had the 96 for 10 years and I have only changed ONE foglight in ten years.

I kept having to change mine even after having the harness changed to the updated one. It was always the drivers side that would burn out. I had the dealer replace the entire assembly and have not had to change it since then. The first time I changed the bulbs I went through the wheel well on the first one but once I had a visual of what the retaining clip looked like I have been able to change it through the headlight. If I get a chance I will try and get a photo of what it looks like for you this weekend.
