Thank you for your time and I am wondering what are the replcement numbers for the fog lights, 9005? 9006? Any help will ne greatly appriciated

Zigger21, I moved this into it'* own thread for you. We prefer not to revive very old threads here. Usually the members are long gone (we have been on the 'net for 10 years. And often newer/better info is available. I also helps the Forum to have new threads and answers as far as Rankings and feeding the searchbots that bring us new members.

The replacement bulb is an H3 which both Advance or Autozone carry. Many of us (including me) use the higher wattage one (100 watts) without problems. It makes a nice difference and seems to last as long as OEM. Which isn't long enough. LOL

www.rockauto.com has an online catalog of all GXP parts that is easy to use to identify, name, and most often give the cheapest prices for such. Thanx.

or install HIDs and forget about changing bulbs!!
installed my HIDs 25 months ago and so far no issues!

but yeah as mentioned above. Its H3 and they are a PITA to change the first time, but can be done in 10 to 15 minutes the second time and so on

One thing I noticed on the fog lights are the marginal (at best) ground wires. I replaced them with 10ga wire and have not had an issue since. I use the H3 50w bulbs.

so whats the story with the H3 bulbs? too much heat?

I think it'* the extra power they draw. I think the stock fog lite bulb is like 5w or something rediculous like that. I remember holding a flashlite in front of the car next to the stock FL'* and the flashlite being brighter. They were useless.

Im running 6K HID in my fogs and going on almost 2 years now... Before then even with the 100watt bulb i had changed both sides 3-4 times within a months time!!! That is what made me change over to HID'*

The bulbs draw considerable wattage, the wires were to thinly engineered. It used to be people figured out what gauge was needed and gave it a safety factor. These days for cost effectiveness they try to use the cheapest way to build and last through warranty. This one didn't even make that. I noticed my drivers side is out again. One of my get around to it projects is to go HID as well.
