Default Stock HU+ Subs= can you do that?

can you hook up subs to a stock head unit, yes i have the proper amp and wiring kit. i just dont want to go buy a aftermarket hu when my stock cd player one works like new.

Yup! You will need a line converter to do the install. They are pretty cheap and work pretty well.

Just splice in the line converter to the rear speaker wiring, then plug your RCA'* into the line converter then to your amp, then your subs to your amp. Whala........ Subs on a factory HU.

Some amps have speaker level inputs built into them. No need for a converter then.

But an aftermarket HU will provide the best EQ

you dont have to lose the rear speakers either, you can just splice into them and run them to the amp and speakers. so you dont lose either

i cant afford the HU that i want yet so im not going to buy a cheap one when my stock cd player works great.
