Bit of a paranoia thing here, I want an alarm that goes off just by bumping in to it. something sensitive.

Also I want to protect my audio equpment if that would/could fail... Is there a GPS thing that I could put into my radio or in the box of my subs that if stolen, Locate its location by GPS, get the cops, and go bea... I mean arrest them and get my stuff back. I know it sounds crazy but does this kind of tech. exist yet?

I just got this alarm a month ago. WOW! It is nice.

Its really sensitive, big truck or loud plane/car goes by, it goes off. The Echo remote is awesome. It relays to me that my car alarm is going off and what part it going off, windows, trunk, etc.. Omega also offers GPS tracking as well.

As far as placing GPS sensors in your HU and/or speaker boxes/amps. That probably is overkill. Your auto insurance should cover your electronics, check with them. As well as any damage to your car by the theiving bastards!!

Besides putting GPS sensors on equipment, make the equipment hard to take. Use bolts and strapping to strap down or bolt your box in the trunk, but do it from inside the box. use Hex Head bolts or other bolt types that most would carry tools for. Same for your radio. Theives do not typically want to spend 20-30 minutes TRYING to get equipment out, they want to get in and get out. Make it hard for them!!!

Have you ever heard the story of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"? Car alarms have SOOO many false calls I bet you could steal ANYTHING in broad daylight and NOBODY would look.

I think an alarm is a false sense of security. A GPS tracker on the other hand...

Ok, by "going off" I meant, just a warning chirp. It has never gone completely in alarm..yet.

I do agree with Hawkjet, with so many alarms going off, these days, we rarely pay attention to them. But I think statistally, if a thief were to choose between a car with or with out an alarm (with alarm LED indicator), the theif will choose the car without the alarm.

Heck, based on that, there is even a company that sales just a flashing LED alarm indicator to fool the stupid criminals that your car has an alarm. I think even that is better than not having one at all. Statistically speaking.

But GPS is a plus, I do not have it on my car. Cost and GPS Service is out of my budget. But it is something I would be interested in. If anything, maybe a LOJACK system. At least with that there is no monthly service fee for tracking. But LOJACK isn't cheap either.

You can even wire up the tumblers to sound a chirp when they move... so if some jackazz is checking for unloced cars..

I have the module here to cut the power to the fuel pump so that when the alarm is active the car will not start.. Just have to figure out how to wire it up. Another idea was to kill the ignition while the alarm is active.

Install a dual zone proximity sensor (motion sensor) along with the alarm install.
If set up properly, you can make a radius around your car that no one will be able to enter into with out the alarm giving a warning chirp.

Thats better protection, than setting the shock sensor to max, which will cause false alarms.

Also you could do the following...

Add 2 more sirens (3 in total) a second under the car or some place difficult to acess or find that has a battery back up and a third inside the cabin of the car to cause pain.

Bolt down your system as mentioned before.

DRILL YOUR SCREW HEADS! On your amps, subs, caps, crossovers, equalizers, decks. this deffinately slows the theifs down, you'll have a heck of a time gettin the stuff out yourself afterwards. I'm hoping on my uncle installing a car alarm/starter deal for me but in the mean time this is my sence of security.
