Who has a Custom Sub Box in the trunk?
I have a JL W6 15in sub in my trunk and also 2 12's in my house waiting and brainstorming on how to build a great sounding and cool box for everything
any suggestions will be appreciated |
I like looking at cardomain to get ideas. I guess the design depends on what type of music you like to listen to. I prefer sealed boxes without ports. But i guess if you listen to alot of rap, a bandpass box will give the most power. How about you make a pyramid box and put some treasure in it.

There is a girl with a NICE set up.

I built my own box just using wood and sealer. I have 2 10inch Jenson subs in it. I just don't have to money for an amp. I did hook it up to my home sterio and holy crap, a lot of bass and no air leaks. My friend and I built the box using a jig saw. I'm happy with it, but I need a dang amp.

DO NOT USE A BANDPASS!!!!!!! they are made for hatch backs, your best bet is sealed with ports or if you have $$$ get a fiberglass casing made

I have to agree. Bandpass are really only if they are made custom by somone who knows a lot about boxes. Prefab bandpass box's can make the most expensive subs sound like poop.
Sealed are great for SQ and getting good tight music. Its actually good for rap since lots of it has intricate bass. Although some just has loud sloppy thumps too Ported are just louder. Usually the rule is about 6db louder. And you will be able to hear the Bass more. I prefer slot ported the best. |
