Where to find switched 12V power for head unit '05 GXP

I am installing an Alpine HU. On the radio harness both 12V power lines are "hot" lines. Both cig lighters are hot. I can't locate a fuse under the seat that is not hot all the time.

What did everyone else use for their switched 12V power?

I have a live wire running from the positive battery terminal into my new alpine deck....not sure if its a good idea but it works for me, the reason i had to run it like that is because the stock wire was not giving the deck enough juice....the hu would dim when the bass hit.

Both cig lighters can be changed to go off 10mins after the ignition is off. Look through your manual its in there. All you need to do is move 1 fuse (in the engine bay) over and its done.

I will troubleshoot the 12V battery line if it becomes an issue. My question is what did you use for the red wire (switched 12V)? I am getting 12V all the time from the harness.

GXP Vince, I don't have a manual since i bought used from a dealer. Can you tell me?

This is exactly what it says fuse 22 or 23 can be moved to the inner position to disable the accessory power outlets or cig lighter 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off.

Orange or Brown in your ignition harness, which is fully accessable through your radio opening, are both 12v switched.

Or get a Peripheral interface named GMCO
it will get you the Acc you need & a Chime..
Prolly $100 may have better price on ebay..
You can also do like the other guy & run it to you Ing Harness.. get a DMM it test the wires..

Also you lights dont dim becose your not getting 12v you needa Big 3 wire upgrade..
use 0AWG & depending on your system you may want a larger alt & batt setup..

Thanks Slick that's what i needed. I'm not concerned with chimes and such so i will keep it simple and go to the ignition.

Be sure to fuse it. 10 amp should be more than sufficient.
