These are flush retainers which are released by pushing the centre upwards until it clicks. They can then be removed. When you are ready to re-install, they can be reset so that the centre sticks out of the bottom. When you place them back in the trim, press the centre upwards until they are flush.

Not sure I follow what you're trying to achieve. Can you post a little more info about what you're installing? Someone else may be able to help out here as well. I haven't done a lot of non-OEM audio work.

Sometimes they are really sticky. After you push them upwards, instead of trying to pull them out carefully work your hand between the trim and the dash. With gentle downwards pressure they should pop out onto the floor and the trim will release. When mine were new, it took quite a bit of force to get them to release. It'* also very easy to be slightly off centre.

So if I'm understanding, you want to connect to the audio out. These can all be accessed behind the knee bolster. There are two 40-pin connectors down by the steering column. If this is what you're looking for, I can post the wires you want. I'm going on the assumption you're connecting to the stock HU.

If you could post it that would be great. I have knee bolster out right now.
