This is a question with unlimited answers. :wink: It all depends on how much you want to spend, and if you want to brag a high-end brand name. Don't get me wrong... high-end stuff yields high-end results, but there are many less-expensive options that will sound just as good to the average ear.

In my '69 Executive (sound system built ~6 years ago), I have an Alpine head unit and V12 amps, and competition-grade JBL speakers and subs. Also had a center console custom-built for my head unit and front speakers, and my trunk completely "remodeled" to showcase my sub box, amp rack, and 1-farad capacitor... with all the wiring completely hidden.

However, now I am older and wiser (I think), with much better things to spend money on. I would like to upgrade my '98 SLE's stock system, but I will probably do so with a replacement *stock* head unit, and a single sub & amp with nothing flashy. It'll hopefully sound great inside the car (where it matters), and I'll realistically spend about 10x less than I did on my other car. Just more info for you to ponder... :wink:

You wanna combine the speakers into pairs , that way you can get them into 4 ohms. Only use the mid and high pass filter on the crossovers and leave the low pass empty, I've tried the other way and this works better.
2 of THESE shoud be enough in a transmission line enclosure, You should not have to give them more than 200 watts a piece if the box is properly desinged. NEVER play with you windows up!With the enclosure , you should be heard about 2 city blocks away and felt 50 feet away , all car alarms should go off and you will be given many tickets . This is the cheapest way to get PAINFUL sound for EVERYONE to enjoy , where ear plugs and be carefull , with the tweeter and mids , you should be able to pump 300.00 watts per pair , THATS ALOT of highs and mids and the transmission line enclosure should only give you bass from about 28hz to about 90hz then skip from 180hz to about 220hz. But when they kick in , you will break you onw window.
Any opinions on my suggestions besides crazy?

i read this long post on how the JL W7's really suck, unless you buy the biggest amp JL sells. Which is VERY expensive... It said that if you go with any other and with them they will sound like crap
