sundowns are .5 stable daily out the box. i agree the old PPI amps are nice but nothing like the sundowns. my 1500d will do about 2k @.5 which is how im running it and have had zero probs and if it were to have probs the parts are easy to get. the PPI goes south its a spendy fix at dbr.com. times have changed and everything that was once good is nothing to the advanced equipment these days. truct me i thought the same til ive had a chance to hear the dif between older amps and newre out these days(compaired an old orion amp to the SAZ3000D) newer amps have alot cleaner power too where older amps can be alot more dirty(clip at lower input voltage which is not a good thing....unless your tring to squeez out another lil bit out of the meter lol then its GAME ON!! lol

I was thinkin about the single sub setup. So if i got a 320 dollar 15" sub, and maybe the audique 2200D and run it at 1300 at 2 ohms or 2200 at 1 ohm, would it be louder than 2 12s?

cant say if it would be louder cuz that depends on soo much stuff like car/truck, box type and design etc etc. the 2 12s will have more cone area but the single 15 is also no joke. better sub will have better sound and will make up for any lack of output compared to 2 12s. by ear and a group of people ive shut down 2 15 l5s in a ported box with more power but his setup was all funky and ghetto and was in the trunk of a caprice. so it really depends on the setup and all that. i think ive heard its 90% build and 10% equipment. less trunk space to use with single sub as well

I was lookin at audioques website and i could get two of their street duty 15s for 160 each. No matter what sub i buy im going to build a ported box to the exact specs that that sub requires.

ha id do 1 15". its a pain to get my single box in the trunk and its 36"X17X15..5 iirc. heavy as hell but the shape of the trunk opening is the tough part. i had t "trim" off some wood in the center top edge of it so it would clear lol i dont see how ya would get the 2 15s to fit unless you spent some time and have some knowhow on what to do. build it into the trunk kinda thing for that. but yeah 1 15" in a good desigend ported box in a Bonne with decent power will get ya want you want. id bet you would of liked my old setup with the DC level 4 15" and SAE1000D cuz it did work for sure lol. what i have now is soo much more itense for a single sub setup. but all in all its your build mang but i got your back too. for the price AQ 2200 is hard to beat for sure.Fi subs are great too and are a bit cheaper than the DCs. the AQ SD subs are decent but the HDCs would handle the power better. thinkin time huh lol
