Default Bose system questions.

I just put in a new set of 5-way 6x9s into my 2000 SSEi, but I don't think the Bose amp is powerful enough to run them. The speakers are 80W nominal power and 460W max power. I have a 150Wx2 amp (4 ohm) that I can put in and use the line level inputs to power them. I am still using the factory head unit for now. Here'* my questions...

1. Is there a remote turn on wire going into the Bose amp that I can splice into to power my amp?
2. And does the Bose amp run anything other than the rear speakers?

Here'* the info on the speakers, Pioneer TS-A6992R
Watts MAX. Music Power 460 Watts
Watts Nominal Power Handling 80 Watts
Frequency Response 25Hz ~ 35kHz
Sensitivity (1W/1m) 93dB
Ohm Rating 4 ohm

It isn't a question of power, it is a question of impedance. The Bose speakers are 2 ohms and if your new speakers are 4 ohms, they will take a higher volume level to drive them and they won't ever be as loud.

1. Is there a remote turn on wire going into the Bose amp that I can splice into to power my amp?
Yes, it should be a pink wire.

2. And does the Bose amp run anything other than the rear speakers?
Yes, it powers ALL the speakers.

Decided to order a new deck today. Getting the JVC KW-XG700, got the GMOS-09, and the VW10 antenna adapter.

You'll have to let me know how that GMOS-09 works. I've always been curious. Where did you get it from?

I thought there were compatibility issues with the stock Bose amp and aftermarket HU'* since the stock amp'* plug can't plug into the aftermarket HU - or is that only '99 and lower?

Not completely sure, I thought the GMOS-09 was made for that issue. Because you can get the different harnesses for non-amplified systems(GMOS-05 or GMRC-04) or the GMOS-09 for amplified systems.

1337ssei and I just bypassed the amp by wiring right past the amp wires. The stock head unit goes into the amp, and then the amp goes to the speakers. We just took the stock head unit wires and shoved them into the appropriate speaker wires. It took a while, but BillBoost had posted the page for all this wiring from his FSM. That helped a whole lot. I'll see if I can find that wiring schematic that was posted here just in case you run into any issues.
