i see a talking car alarm that has a programmable voice(that you can use your own voice) it was a 2-way
does anybody know the name


and as for my alarm can i change the ringtones?

Man.... I'm not sure if I like the idea of a talking car alarm.
Remember the cars that "talked" back in the 80s.... "your door is ajar... your door is ajar".

Although..... a car alarm that threatens the theft would be cool.
You'd have to get the guy who does the voice of KITT to do it for you... that would be kinda cool.

Don't know the name of that one.
The other day there was a Tahoe with PIONEER on the side very big, so I walked by to check it out. When I got within 6inches of it it talked to me.
"Stand back, protected by viper."

Many alarm models do have programmable tones, but a dealer (installer) has to adjust it for you. The Viper alarm on my '69 Executive has 6 different siren tones, and I was able to choose which ones I wanted (and for how long they would each sound) when the alarm is activated.

As for the recordable-voice alarms... it seems kind of pointless. I think bystanders are more likely to notice a siren, than some unknown voice speaking unitelligible threats at nobody. :wink: And anymore, "professional" car burglars will get whatever they want out of your car before anyone even pays attention to the alarm. Good insurance is probably a better investment than an expensive alarm. :)

5 min is alot of time for a intruder to sit and fuck with a car 5 more min that somebody can notice him right

One thing I seen just the other day was the factory alarm on a mustang. It was just the horn beeping but not the traditional " beep....beep....beep...", it was beeping at different lengths and different intervals, like someone actually beeping at a person. It actually got my attention. I know when I hear that usual beeping I don't even bother but cause this sounded like a person beeping in the car I looked over.

(I just re-edited the following to make it clear that I'm _not_ trying to insult the original poster here; I'm talking about this type of car alarm in general...)

Wal-Mart was clearancing off the BulldogSecurity talking alarm for only twenty bucks... and _still_ nobody had bought it. (I know that one doesn't offer recording capability, but the net effect is the same.) Ironically, the only place where I think I've seen a talking alarm going off recently was in the Wal-Mart parking lot. It was largely unintelligible anyway, and from the looks on peoples' faces as they walked by, the overall effect was, "Jeez, what a moron." :roll:

I mean, if you need to record your own voice because you need to yell at the offenders in some foreign language, fine, do what you have to do, but overall this whole idea seems like a technical solution in search of a problem. Trust me, the response of onlookers to your talking car alarm going off in your own voice is _not_ going to be, "Gosh, what an impressive, high-tech person the owner must be!"
