i was just wondering if a stock cd player from a 2000+ bonneville will fit in a 97 bonnie. my current cd player does not play cd'* and the backlight for the time and staions does not light. if the newer cd player does not fit is there any way to fix my current one? or will i have to find a new one alltogether?

No, a 2000+ CD player will not fit.

For the bonneville, you can use the following and have them fit and work:

94-99 Bonneville
94-03 Grand prix
96-98 Grand Am (might be more, unsure)
95-99 Sunfire
94-02 Firebird/Trans Am

Now, there may be a way to fix yours, but it involved taking it apart. And it depends on the error code it displays whe it doesn't play a CD.

That being said, I have about 5-6 sitting here that I'll let go pretty cheap, and will make sure they play CD'* and backlights work before I send them out. If you are interested, let me know. Probably would be a week or so though before I could get one tested and out though, just FYI.

Nope the DIN sizes are different. I think that it would just be easier to put in an aftermarket stereo.

Hi Jimmy,
I noticed your post about radios and was wondering if you could advise me what I can do about my radio backlight being visible but not very clear during the day yet in evening I can see time clearly and station info due to the outside darkness I guess. Do you know if it just needs a new bulb and the radio must be removed to replace it or what? Otherwise it works just fine and I have no complaints about it. Also, do you work on cars and if so where are you located? I'm in NJ near the Jersey Shore in Ocean County. I'm looking for a Pontiac mechanic in NJ or nearby state
