Default stock cd ??

k, so i searched and got a little info, but need to make sure. i have a 94 ssei with a stock tape deck and aftermarket cd changer. i want to put a factory cd player, keep my steering controls and the cd changer. a guy has a stock delco cd from a 99 cavalier, and i want to double check that everything will be fine. from what i read, i'm alright but i want to know for sure before i pick it up, thanks

I don't know if it will be a "plug-and-play" swap for you. In fact, I would be surprised if it was.

I'm figureing that the CD changer must be a fm-modulated unit, that sends it'* signal into the tape deck head unit via the antenna input. That part shouldn't change, and you should be able to at least make the changer work the same way that it is currently.

Why are you set on the stock one from another car? Any reason you would choose that versus an aftermarket unit? You know that you can get an interface that will allow the steering wheel controls to work with several aftermarket decks?

Only possible thing I forsee is that the 99 built for a cavy might not have the abilty to be controlled via steering wheel controls. Or you might need to move the resistor wire to the correct pin for it to work.

95 Bonne resistor wire was say position 13 and in 97 bonne that same wire needed to be position 14

okay, so it might be a little worse than i thought? i'm supposed to get it this weekend. i don't need an aftermarket deck, i don't want to a hard time hopoking up the interface-more money, or hokin the changer to the new deck. i figure it'* way easier and cheaper to get a stocker. i nkow the cav'* didn't use steering controls, but some sunfires did-but i think radios are different betwwen the two. i'm still hoping it'* fine cause if i don't know for sure that it won't, i'll be getting this one.
