Default Hooking up a 4ch amp questions???

Ok so I've done a few audio installs on my car and a few of my friends but I have a question about adding a 4 ch amp. I have a 92 ssei with front 5 1/4 and tweeters. If i wire in a 4 channel amp to the front speakers how can i do so without affecting the tweeters? is it possible because i'm pretty sure they're connected together somehow so wouldnt this mess up the install?

if they are the stock speakers then the mid and the tweeter are not wired together and you would be able to leave the tweeter amped by the headunit and use the new amp for the mids. take apart the door panel and you'll see wires coming from the tweet and mid, they lead to connectors that are mounted to the door panel and there you can re-do the wires.

like he said, you should be able to amp just the 5 1/4s by disconnecting them from the factory wiring and putting the new amp wires to the new speaker. if anything you may have to cap off the bare wire from the factory harness so that you don't get transient noise in the tweeters or anywhere else in the system for that matter. otherwise you should be cool, let us know how it sounds
