Keyless entry installation website?
Does anyone know if there are any websites on how to install keyless entry systems?
My wife is just determined to have this on her 85.I got a kit but the instructions are very poor and this company doesnt have a website or tech support(EL Cheapo)
I was assuming most of these kits use the same basic set ups?At least I do have a service manual
Thanks

They do have standalone keyless entry kits (i.e. they do nothing but let you into the car), although realistically you're more likely to find the feature as part of either an alarm system or a remote starter. I have not seen the plain keyless-entry kit ever being sold, in actual fact, although you can probably order them over the Internet somehow.

Yes,it has factory door locks,It has 2 large red wires at the ign. switch harness
For the constant 12 volts, would both of these be hooked to the keyless system?

The controllers can actuate the car'* power locks in one of several basic ways:
1) Using relays to bypass the door switch, by shorting the door switch power input wire direct to either the Lock or Unlock output wires, as if you were pushing the door switch button yourself
2) Injecting its own power into either the Lock or Unlock output wires to actuate the locks. In this setup, the controller would be using power from the large red wires as a source for this.
3) Using relays to _ground_ either the Lock or Unlock wires at the door switch, for cars which use this type of circuit, which I don't think includes Bonnevilles. (There is a security system wire which may need to be grounded, but that'* a different subject.)

Success.....almost
I did a trial hookup and everything works
Only problem is that I can only get 1 transmitter to work.I have 3 more and cant get any of these to work.I did the same thing for these that I did for the first. Is there something different that you have to do for the other transmitters like unhook the battery and start over or something like that?
One more t5hing..Where is the best place to mount the module? It is just a keyless entyr ,not an alarm
Thanks,Allen

In general, the method for programming the first remote tends to _not_ be the same as programming _additional_ remotes. The first remote to be programmed needs a sign-on procedure that would overwrite a previous (possibly lost) remote, and it sounds like you have figured out that part. The _additional_ ones would use a method that adds them without erasing any previous ones, at least until you max-out the number of remotes that can be programmed at one time, usually either two or four.
With the Bulldog systems, for example, you typically get into programming mode using the _original_ remote, then press a button on the _new_ remote to add it. If you get into programming using the new remote only, the system will probably forget all about the previous one since it will assume you lost it.
