Speaker rating

I was wondering if any one would know or know where to find out the OHM rating of the front speakers in a 93 LeSabre limited with out taking the door panels off or removing the head unit.

I believe it says concert sound on the door panels and that they have tweeters in them and I know the rear speakers are 10 OHM

Thanks

should be 4 ohms

the bose units are the only ones that i am aware of that has 2 ohms setups.

What is GMs reasoning for useing 10ohm 6x9s instead of matching the speakers at 4ohm

HTH are we supposed to know something like why an engineer did that?

Either as a result of the way they wired the integrated tweeters with the mids in the 6x9s, or in order to compensate for the high guage wire's resistance in the longer run to the rear of the car. My educated guesses.

Yes the front speakers with the Concert sound should have a 4 ohm 5.25 Midrange, and a 4 ohm Tweeter...

I was also wondering what GM was thinking... My 91 LE came with 9.5 ohm front speakers in the dash and 4 ohm 6x9's in the deck..

The 91 SSE Had the 4 ohm front speakers and Tweets, and 4 ohm rear 6x9's and tweets...

The 95 SE had 4 ohm front speakers and 10 ohm rears... Almosy lost

working for a gm dealership from personal experience it probally had nothing at all to do with engineers and everything to do with what they got for the cheapest price in a large quanity.
