Default Wierd sounds from my rear speakers

When I had my new head unit with dvd/cd/radio hooked up, the left rear speaker makes a kind of scratchy, staticy sound even on dvd'*. So do you think the speaker is shot or a loose wire going to it? Or could it be the amp having issues? I turned the bass and treble all the way down to 0 and it still has that sound in it, very annoying. It'* kinda like the speaker is shaking when the bass or treble is played. How hard is it to check the rear left speaker for any issues. Does the cover just pop off the speaker? Do I need to pull the back seats out?

Let me know,
thanks.

You should be able to fade your stereo to the back, then to the left and right. Compare the two speakers, do they sound any different?

Also, if you turn the volume all the way down, do you still hear the noise? Does it get louder if you rev the engine?

sounds like they are blown or maybe they have a bad wire connection.
